For those of you who read this blog with any regularity, thank you! And, you are likely familiar with my immense adoration for Cake Skincare Owner, Katrina Rising. Not only is she the brow queen (mine are more glorious everyday thanks to her magic), she's also a scientific genius when it comes to skincare.
You may have also heard me go on and on about how difficult it is to get in to see Katrina. Not to worry, if you are on a wait list, I have some comfort for you. I've asked a few of my local favorite gurus to offer their best advice on taking care of yourself during the winter. While we know we need to amp things up, it's only a few dedicated souls who do. Over the next week, you'll hear from them as well as some tips from me on taking care of your clothes this time of year.
Fortunately, we're kicking things off with Katrina's advice on keeping your skin beautiful. And, my skin is proof that she knows what she's talking about. Enjoy!

2. A Humidifier.
Use a humidifier! Our skin gets tortured through the night in our dry heated houses. Easy and effective. Use one with an aroma option and get added sleep benefits of calming essentials oils like lavender.
3. Hyaluronic Acid.
If you are a breakout prone person this can be a challenging time of year. You need to hydrate but you are afraid to break out and it ends up drying the skin out and trapping the debris causing more problems. Look for moisturizers and serums that have high amounts of hyaluronic acid (you'll find it closer to the beginning of the ingredients). I like Intraceuticals Moisture Binding Cream. This clean moisture has aloe and leaves the skin feeling silky not wet. The hydration happens on the inside while your skin stays protected by the mimicked lipid barrier that the calming aloe provides.
It's me again! I'd like to add that Katrina turned me onto the Bio-cell mask from Le Mieux and it has had an undeniable effect on my skin for a really reasonable price. (You get four in a pack.)
