Wishlist for Erika M. May, 2014
Urban, professional, edgy, sophisticated
Happy May! Per your request, you'll be seeing bathing suit options and shoes that can coordinate with a fancy navy blue dress. Let me know how the shoe options go over. If you'd like to send over a photo of the dress for next time, I can offer up other choices, too.
I feel like you are ready for a designer piece. So, how about these shoes of dreams? Yes! They'd be great with a fancy navy dress. You certainly can do black and navy together. Or, go for a metallic or colored shoe and leave these for any other opportunity to feel edgy, sophisticated and sexy. These were really calling your name.
And so begins the bathing suit discussion. For your figure, buying bathing suit tops that are sized by bra size rather than small, medium and large will make for happy times in the water. I love this option for you because it comes in an endless number of colors and prints (mix and match), the straps are thicker (more support) and it comes in your cup size. Additionally, I think it's a balance of fashionable and functional as I know you are really active when you are out in the sunshine. The asphalt color on top would be super flattering for your figure and with your eyes.
You can certainly go for another color or pattern. I realize the risk involved with white, to check those out first to make sure they work for you. The ties draw attention to your hips, balancing out your frame. White makes you look tanner and draws attention to your bottom half. I adore the asphalt/ white combo for you. Athleta offers seemingly endless styles for swim bottoms, so if you'd like to match the top, you can choose from lots of choices for the bottoms. You'd look great in these and since you can, I say you should.
For the days when you plan to be especially active in the water, I thought you'd prefer a more functional option. The band is great for your figure, showing off your hips and waist. I like this color with the asphalt top, but again, you can choose.
What is bathing suit season without Victoria Secret? You can mix and match these tops and bottoms, as well. I opted for the black dots as they offer an edgier, unusual approach that you don't see often. Again, sized by cup size with extra support and thicker straps, you are sure to feel comfortable while looking incredible.
I vote for this style of bottoms (rather than the pair pictured in the black and white print). The metal gives the suit an air of sophistication, glamour and draws attention to your hips balancing out your frame. Try a bold color like this one or stick with the black and white dots which are also an option. The hipster rise elongates your torso.
Designerland. You deserve it. The price is crazy and this swim suit is equally sophisticated. I love the idea of this with luxury sunglasses and a big hat for vacations. Rest assured you can wear it for a number of years and always feel fabulous when slipping into your suit. Perfect for drinks on or off the beach afterward. White- again- tan.
For the navy dress. You'll be able to integrate these into your wardrobe easily. As neutrals, they go with everything. Plus, the D'Orsay style is perfect for spring and summer. The heel is manageable and yet still sophisticated. You'll be able to walk all night long without feeling concerned about the comfort of your feet. Plus, designer. On sale. Because you can.
I know you requested two piece suits so this one is a freebie. I just loved the idea of it for you, so here you go. The asymmetrical cut balances out your frame and who can beat navy? This suit is sophisticated, luxurious and just looks expensive. Plus, it's sized by cup and the ruching shows off your waist.
Finally, they are just too incredible to pass up. The platform ensures that these beauties don't feel as high as they are. And, they have an urban but relaxed vibe that is very Seattle. I can see you wearing these in place of your current ankle boots or motorcycle boots during warmer weather. Certainly an edgy one-of-a-kind approach. Channelling All Saints, but better.
And there you have it. This was so fun! If you continue to search for suits make sure to look for those with wider straps, darker colors or solids on top and lighter colors or prints on the bottom. You want to be able to select sizes based on cup size and asymmetrical cuts are great for your figure. Underwire is also a plus.
