It's time to fill in the gaps in your wardrobe. Based on your specific list of requests, you'll find a sea of awesomeness below. I also know how much you love shopping, so I'm predominantly focusing on retailers that you can actually visit with special care to avoid the old stand-byes. We begin by embracing your euro hip tendencies and getting ready for warmer weather. I'm obsessed with the romper from Opening Ceremony. (Another label that's euro hip/ weird/cool that may have potential finds for you.) It's on sale and will be gone very soon, so if it appeals to you, don't delay. Try it with nude shoes or clogs. Yes, it's bold and unexpected. It also shows off your legs while still maintaining functionality.
Please remember, when you choose to purchase items, start from this page as Poplin may receive a commission. Items were selected just for you. There was no preference given to retailers who provide a commission. And, there is no additional cost to you.
You requested boyfriend button down shirts from somewhere other than Banana. I'm an enormous fan of Club Monaco. The quality is amazing, and if you hold out for sales, the deals can be thrilling, too. I'd recommend you visit the Club Monaco in Pacific Place (they know me there) and see what you find. They are about to get the spring stock in! This shirt will tone down the bold prints in your closet and on this list, for the days that is especially appealing.
Okay, this is when we think about how to communicate a euro hip/ bold/ unexpected style without using loud prints. It's all about the shapes. We both have a love of Rachel Comey and these super wide leg pants are SO good. They come in several colors, too. I especially love them because they are so wide, that they actually look like you are wearing a full skirt. It's highly likely you'll want to get them tailored. The beauty is that you can have the length brought up to whatever place feels best. I like just enough to show your ankles. As an aside, I would have recommended the Rachel Comey flats on her site (so many super cool options) but none were gold. Take a look!
Speaking of gold flats.... Yes, you like ballet flats without the stretchy elastic. How about a rubber pair? Crazy functional and also unlike anything you'll see around town. These come in several colors and are a fun way to bring something hip and unexpected to an otherwise subdued/preppie look. LOVE these with the button down and a pair of jeans.
The perfect white tee! I think a visit to Aritzia is in order. There's one in U Village. It's t-shirt central over there. This one is so good with a high waisted skirt or pants. It's also just right over a dress with a low back. However, it's not going to work with a mid rise bottom. Therefore, I'm offering up some of my other favs. My personal favorite tees come from The Limited, if you can believe it. They hold up forever. The envelope neckline looks so good on you (Kate Spade Saturday proved that).
Another Opening Ceremony find. The shorts are in limited supply on the internet. But, I want you to get the idea, more than anything. Try shorts that look similar to a mini skirt. This will flatter your petite frame and still allow you to bend over and run around with the family. Of course, orange is never a bad choice.
You have a solid supply of shapeless Marimekko dresses. Why not try a bold offering that shows off your petite frame? This super cool top from Need Supply looks stunning with high waisted options and is flattering for your body type. I have a feeling it will be heavy in the rotation, as long as you have high waisted options with which to pair it.
Which brings us to this skirt of dreams. Obsessed with the pumpkin color for you and this paper bag style is a frequent look for the more hip brands. Be sure to tuck in your shirt or opt for a crop top. Potentially, this will arrive and be just the right length (the length shown sure isn't just the right length). If not, it's time for the tailor. You can run around in this one easily and style it for every season. It communicates euro hip without the bold prints, too. Score!
It's time to restock the v-neck cardigans. I really love the cardis from Uniqlo and lucky for us, there's now a Uniqlo in Bellevue Square. These have UV protection which is especially helpful in the summer or when you are heading to a sunnier climate. Tons of colors available at a great price point. And, they hold up well over time.
Last but not least, your request for tights that offer support and hold up well over time. I also like DKNY (especially sheer) and Spanx. If you are ready for an upgrade, try these. Often referred to as the "Rolls Royce of Tights." They should last for years:) Check the blackness to make sure it is what you are looking for. In certain light it can look a little lighter.
And there you have it. Ideally this will fill any vacancies in your closet and give you some inspiration moving forward. Enjoy!
P.S. Your next wishlist is scheduled for delivery by 4/30/16.
