Sample Uber Wishlist
Funky, Feminine with an Edge, Urban- Boho, Polished
(Because this is a sample from an actual client, the items may no longer be available for purchase.)
A few things to keep in mind while perusing your new uber wish list. First, in our conversations you mentioned that you love to mix and match patterns and bold colors. We also discussed your love of vintage-inspired items, fit & flare styles and having that special something that no one else has. Thanks to your openness about price, there's a nice balance between higher quality brands, a touch of designer (Marimekko!) and fast fashion. Because you have an array of colored jewelry and the clothes are bolder, I'm suggesting gold and silver accessories where the visual interest is in the design rather than the color. Enough talk. Let's get to it!
It all begins with bold yellow with eyelet detail. I couldn't be more excited about this top. It's flattering for your body type, slightly scooped neck and 3/4 length sleeves. Plus, it's dramatic and vintage-inspired without being over the top. Wear it with the skirt below- yes! Or, try it with a striped blazer, blue jeans and a nude shoe. Easy to dress up or down and the sleeves mean you can avoid a cardigan or jacket in the next few months.
This skirt will stay with you for years. Sure to attract attention, it can be paired easily with solids (of course). But don't be afraid to try it with a navy/white striped shirt and a jean jacket. Or a navy/white polka dot top and a green blazer. Perhaps a chambray shirt and a striped sweater over the top. So many options. Nude shoes are perfect for any ensemble. Even a basic v-neck white tee is an option.
Yes! It's Marimekko, it's on sale and it's crazy awesome. Bold and still functional, it's a signature piece for sure. I love it because it pairs so nicely with stripes, solids and bold florals. Try it with any of your current chartreuse, red, yellow, etc or simply go for jeans. It would be smashing over the outfit above with nude shoes and gold jewelry.
This makes me happy. It's unique and bold, so you! But because it is simply gold, you can wear it with nearly anything. We'll be mixing and matching multiple prints, so it's best to keep the jewelry monochromatic without being boring.
Wedges or platforms.... done and done! The vintage inspired shoe is great for your body shape because it is nude/lighter brown so it isn't drawing all the attention toward your bottom half. However, the unique design and round toe make it your style. With lots of pieces that could be too feminine or nautical on their own, pairing with these shoes gives your look the edge that is true to your aesthetic. They are also comfortable enough to walk between buildings during the day or from a restaurant to a movie on the weekends.
I almost want you to buy two. This brings drama to every outfit. I adore it with the pants below. Add the grey cardigan for warmth or to make the ensemble a little more casual. Add the Bialas, your gold necklace and you are good to go. This is also exceptional with the bold prints you'll see more of as we progress and the green blazer. The horizontal stripes and boatneck draw attention to your top half, a win for your figure.
These have you written all over them. It's true, they draw attention to your lower half. So, please promise me you'll always pair them with something interesting on top and a subtle shoe that elongates you. In addition to the striped tee, try them with the white long sleeved top with embroidered sleeves and a nude shoe. Or, go for a solid dark blue or purple top. Bring in the denim jacket or try a chambray shirt. They actually can pair nicely with an array of items and they are certainly funky, urban boho and polished simultaneously. A final plus, they are from Boden which means you'll see very few people wearing them.
Uniqlo is the magical location for cardigans. Great quality. Wonderful price. Feel free to stock up. If nothing else, the grey is an essential for you. You can also go with a shorter version. This one has UV protection which is pretty great for the summer months.
"Your bracelet is so cool," they'll say. It's attention getting while still allowing you to rock bold prints and colors without being too much. You love a deal and this is certainly a deal. The Limited accessories are also very nice quality so it is sure to last you for years.
Red! It's your fav and this sleeveless dress can be worn solo in the warmer months or over leggings in the winter. Add a white/navy polka dot blazer to spice things up along with brown ankle boots or the Bialas. The detail up top is flattering for your body and this is so comfortable, you'll feel like you are in sweats. Try it as a skirt by adding the striped tee over the top and adding the long grey cardigan. Tights, boots and you are done.
Dark purple which you love and it looks lovely on you. While you aren't a slave to the trends, the current crochet fad is in your favor as you adore the added feminine detail. This top draws your eyes up and can pair easily with bold bottoms or jackets. Try it with a navy skirt to elongate your frame. Then spice things up with the polka dot jacket. Or, wear it with jeans and the dark purple Campers. (Wait until you see those!). I love this with the print pants above, as well.
Nothing says polished like a blazer. But, you aren't into looking stuffy or overdone. So, it's essential that you pair this with something fun. Try the navy/white striped shirt underneath and a colored a line skirt. Or the floral Marimekko top below and a pair of jeans. Those dark purple Campers and gold jewelry complete that look.
I can absolutely see you in this. The cut is flattering for your body shape- v-neck, gathered empire waist. The pattern and color are also very you. Funky, feminine but not girly. Try it with the green jacket listed later and a pair of jeans. You can still do the dark purple Campers. or, go for the nude Bialas and a bold colored skirt- perhaps a red maxi. Depending on your mood, you can even try it with the yellow eyelet skirt. Just keep things simple otherwise- nude shoes, gold jewelry, a natural cardigan (if any).
Such a deal and from ASOS so you won't see it all around town. It adds edge to an otherwise potentially preppy or girly look. Simply add this necklace and an edgy shoe and your entire look has become more urban.
I know. It's an investment. But, it's magic for sure. That's a top that you are sure to receive compliments on and it is really your jam. I love it with the green blazer right below. Or, try it with stripes. Jeans and the purple Campers or dark purple pants and nude shoes to elongate your frame. This will make you feel beautiful and unique every time you put it on. If you want to communicate that you have style but don't buy everything from Nordstrom, this is how to do it.
Vintage inspired. Bold, Unique and flattering. It has it all. You just bought a dress of the same color from the Limited, so that's a good sign. I especially love the idea of this with dark purple- channelling Esprit in the 80's. These trouser leggings below and the navy and white striped shirt would be glorious. Or go for polka dots. This color looks lovely with gold, so that's an easy match. Try it over your dresses to keep your arms warm. The styling gives it that special edge and it can easily be worn casually. It will quickly become essential.
Such a deal and a comfortable, easy, still flattering way to rock some color on your lower half. You love dark purple and it's all the rage right now. Think of it as navy's sister. It can coordinate easily with virtually as many options as navy. They don't stretch out as you wear them and they are available in multiple colors. I'm loving them with the Campers right below and the yellow eyelet top. Add the navy and white polka dot jacket and a gold bracelet or necklace. Yes you can!
I could go on about these all day. They are crazy cool, urban, comfortable and coordinate beautifully with virtually everything on your list. Plus, I had to stick with Nordstrom for shoes because of the selection and the return policy.
I bought this for me... and for a friend... and I'm sort of obsessed with it. It coordinates perfectly with gold or silver, which is more helpful than it seems. I know you stick with big bags in the hobo style. I considered suggesting more, but I think you've got that on lock down and don't really need help in that area. Instead, I'll suggest a clutch that is large enough to be functional for special occasions. It's got a vintage vibe and can certainly be used year after year. Polished, my dear. That's what you'll be.
I don't know why Marimekko doesn't offer larger photos. What I do know, is that this dress is so happy, so vintage-inspired, so bold, so flattering for your body, so YOU. It's an investment. I expect it's an investment that only you will make, so your spot as the hip, unexpected, edgy non-Nordstrom worker will be secure. Rock it with the nude shoes or even try the Campers. The sleeves are great, too. It's just great. A gold bracelet or necklace would be lovely and to stay warm try a denim jacket or a nude shoe with the green jacket.
I like the idea of mixing up your bold necklace collection with something crazy long and attention-getting. Metallics add polish to any outfit and this can be layered over well- anything. The rhinestones are a little over the top- but I'm digging it.
You love this color and it looks great on you. I love this price, the flattering cut and the ease of movement. Wear it on the weekend with flip flops to wedges. Or, try it at work with the polka dot blazer and nude shoes. Alternatively, the green jacket and a gold necklace with nude shoes. Or, how about a chambray shirt over the top and a cardigan? The list goes on. $20. For real.
I couldn't give you an entire list without including at least one local boutique find. Another print alternative to polka dots and stripes. Rock this as shown with a bold cardigan. Or, try the yellow eyelet skirt and nude shoes. Easy to pair, easy to wear. Also, it's made in America and can be found at Velouria in Ballard. Tell them I sent you so a portion of your sale goes to YouthCare.
Super flattering for your figure, this top draws the eye up. Worn with dark blue jeans it will elongate your frame. The palette ensures that you can add a print jacket over the top. How about the polka dot coat and nude shoes? Or even red? Polished, easy and affordable.
Funky and polished. How about a tailored shirt in a funky print? I love this with a navy skirt or blue jeans. Try adding the navy and white striped tee over the top for a layering effect. Or, go for a red skirt on the bottom and nude shoes with a denim jacket.
So affordable, so cool, so functional.
I am wearing this top in navy blue right now. It's glorious. It draws attention to your arms and adds an interesting and feminine touch without being too girly. Try it with the bold pants at the beginning of your list and nude shoes. It hits at your hip, so it can also be worn with a more form fitting skirt or pants. I love the idea of it with shorts, as well. And, the sleeves mean that you can avoid wearing a jacket or cardigan at all, if you'd like.
This skirt is gold. Feel free to buy it in as many colors as you'd like. It's super flattering for your figure and can be dressed up or down. This one pairs beautifully with so many bold prints, allowing you to rock the Marimekko print top with a striped jacket and not be too crazy. Or in the colder months, try the boots below, tights and a bold sweater on top. A perfect canvas for any adventurous outfit.
Yes! Fly London is your new Fluevog. Unique, urban, comfortable and available at Nordstrom.com (I've never seen them in the store). You have the benefit of the return policy and discount without the concern that you'll see them all over the office.
Did you see that price? Seriously! Wow. So cute, so fun, so easy. You can also wear this as a skirt by adding a print top.
This is one of my very favorite items on the entire list. It channels the Forever 21 top that both you and I own and amps it up- a lot. Clearly a quality find, you'll receive endless compliments on this one. Pair it like you would with the striped top or go for broke and try it with the pants below and nude or black shoes. As with all Marimekko pieces, it is an investment. But, I really think you'll be happy you did it.
These make me happy. You get your discount, hooray! And, you get some flattering pants that are unique, edgy and polished. Be bold and pair them with the yellow eyelet top. Or take it slower and try them with the dark purple top with the embroidery and the green blazer. Yes, they draw attention to your lower half. But, I'm confident you'll rock them with something of visual interest up top. Go! (They do have sort of a 90's doc inspired edge that I think you'll appreciate."
Essential. Goes with everything. I have it. I recommend it.
This one is just for you! You love the high-low style and here it is in your favorite color. The jersey fabric is easy and soft and the style is flattering. Add the striped top over to give the illusion that you are wearing a skirt. Or, go for the polka dot blazer and gold jewelry. Nude shoes are perfect. Great for the weekends or work and the price is certainly right.
So cool. So unexpected and edgy. And, $6. It makes you want to get one for everyone you know. It's silver, which I know you like but aren't as into right now. I just wanted to make sure you had a silver options. It's also available in gold.
Birds! Out of all my bird finds, this one was the most flattering for your figure and the easiest to coordinate with your wardrobe. Talk about mixing prints! This will be edgy with the jacket immediately below. Or feminine with jeans and nude shoes. Add your polka dot coat and navy skirt with nude shoes for another look. Plus, it's a great price right now, too.
I couldn't do the whole list without making sure to include a vintage inspired jacket. This one adds edge while still having a nice nod to the Jackie O days. Try it over the print tops- Marimekko or the bird top and add jeans. Or, try the yellow skirt and the chambray shirt or a the yellow top and jeans with this beauty. I also like it over the black and white Dusen Dusen shirt with the purple pants and Campers. Options abound.
If you don't get the red high-low dress, I'd recommend getting this skirt in red. Otherwise, black is easy and pairs with everything effortlessly. Sit on the grass, play at the park or head to a meeting. This offers an easy solution to your daily struggles with choosing an outfit.
They are seagulls. Made in America, vintage-inspired, fit and flare design AND they're seagulls. I had to share. Archerie makes beautiful clothes. Velouria carries the line, but currently they do not have this print. Feel free to try the ships dress there, if you'd like. It's an investment. But it was too good not to show you.
If you are going to rock scarves, why not try one that allows you to mix prints in a way that works for you. I love this with the striped top, most of all. The price is right and it's channelling Marimekko without the price tag.
So useful it's almost a neutral. Add the striped shirt over top for some excitement. Try that look with jeans and any of the three pairs of shoes on your list. Or, wear this over a maxi dress, with the purple trouser leggings. It would look great with the denim trousers you ordered from the Limited and the green jacket.
Camis are essential and this is one of my favs. They can be washed in the washing machine, last forever and smooth everything out. Availalbe in endless colors. Since you've got Virtual dollars to spend, anyway....
Finally, the last item on the list. Also an investment piece from Archerie, this dress is made in America and features apples. I thought you'd appreciate the pattern and the vintage inspired design. Great for your figure and something unique that shows you don't take yourself too seriously, I'm including it. Why not?
Because a fews items were out of stock, I'm suggesting a few more:) I like all of these jackets and would actually suggest that you visit the Zara downtown store and try out a few options to see what you think.
I hope you have enjoyed your uber whilst as much as I've enjoyed making it for you. I was inspired to create a collection that is true to your personal style: Funky, Feminine with an Edge, Urban- Boho & Polished. The collection is limited to your favorite color palette so that everything will mix and match and I've balanced the number of each type of item to make a functional wardrobe. Finally, there's more here than you may need or want. The goal is to offer you options that don't feel overwhelming and are all specifically curated for you.
