Wishlist for Susan T., October, 2013
Ah, the joy of shopping for you continues. Take a look!
Per your request, striped leggings. I realize the price seems too good to be true. But, I heart Uniqlo and have been really impressed with the items I've purchased from the store. As an added bonus, they are from Japan:)
Hello, writer! I thought you might appreciate an Orwellian t-shirt. This item from beloved New York book store, Strand, is referential and flattering for your figure. I've included two options- both would look great on you. The dark color, v-neck and slim fit of the t-shirt highlight your best features and coordinate nicely with other pieces in your wardrobe. Also flattering, the fleece sweatshirt has the ever elusive raglan sleeve that you and I discussed is especially slimming for your shoulders. Plus, it's warm:)
I am obsessed with the idea of these for you. I know you just stocked up on colored tights, but they are too good to pass up. They come in several color combinations and are made by a local Seattle designer. You can see them in person at Velouria in Ballard or online. Very exciting indeed!
With a nod to your Texas background and your love of music, here's a t-shirt from Waterloo Records in Austin, TX. Again, the black shirt works well for your figure and the colors in the graphic fit nicely into your wardrobe. This would look awesome with your red or blue tights and motorcycle or Hunter rain boots and a black or grey mini. Alternatively, rock it with red pants rolled up to show your ankles, some ankle booties and a black or navy cardigan and you are too cute! The striped leggings can work with it, too. The options are endless.
This is a higher quality item, with a corresponding price tag. But, I'm adding it because it is James Perse, the same fella who made the t-shirt you love so much from the Rack. If you are moving in the direction of colored or graphic tights and a short skirt, this could quickly become a go to. It's really flattering for your figure as it draws attention downward while still being a dark color.
You could totally pull this off. It comes in several bold colors. Pair it with a graphic t shirt and a cardigan. It would be great with either pair of boots and dark tights (if you go for a bold color). Leather is crazy hot right now, so it would feel really current and true to your style.
I'm adding this one in as a bonus. Your size is currently unavailable, but I suggest you keep an eye out for it as these are MADE for your lifestyle. Reflective stripes are revealed when you fold the pant leg. There's a key pocket and the back is higher than the front to make riding while wearing them comfortable. I can absolutely see you wearing these on your bike and walking directly into the office in them.
It wouldn't be right for you to subscribe to wishlists and not receive a "POW" item. So, here it is. As we head into party season, I couldn't help but include this one for you. Again, an investment for sure. But, I know you secretly love great designers, unique pieces and items that are comfortable. (Pockets at a New Year's party, anyone?) Plus, this is super flattering on your figure and can be accessorized to be crazier or more subdued. I saw it. It's you. I'm including it.
Ha! So you. And, it makes it even easier when you are ordering the striped leggings:) Pair with grey tights and a black mini. Or, go for a bold (perhaps red) skirt with black leggings/tights and boots. I also like this with your yellow pants.
Okay, clearly you aren't going to purchase several writing/ grammar related t-shirts. But, these are a few of the favorites I found for you. I thought I'd leave the exciting decision-making to you. This one is bold, flattering and works easily in your wardrobe. It would look great with a long sleeve tee underneath.
In the event that the other two skirts seemed a little pricey or exciting, this is a super basic and comfortable jersey mini. It's not as short as it looks, but you'll feel more comfortable with opaque tights or leggings underneath. It's great quality. The price also empowers you to purchase more colored skirts without breaking the bank or balance the investment pieces with one of these.
As you can see, this month's wishlist focuses on the items you requested: striped leggings, graphic t-shirts, especially those with long sleeves and perhaps a short skirt or two- with some other recommendations here and there. Let me know if you have other ideas for next month and I'll be sure to integrate them. Happy shopping!
