Smoothest Skin Ever, Without Spending $50.

I adore body scrubs. My personal favorite is Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Scrub. It's $60. Up until this point, I endured a constant struggle between two parts of myself. The first part enjoys my super smooth legs. The second, and directly opposing side monitors my bank account.

The struggle is real. And lucky for me, it's over.

Now, I whip up my own body scrub in less than five minutes that is, dare I say it, on par with my Laura Mercier go-to. Here's how it's done. (Before I go on, I must admit that my husband made the last batch for me. It's the little things that make life so good.) Onward.

Body Scrub

Ingredients

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

That it. Mix it together. Put it in a jar and go.

A few words of wisdom:

You can adjust the amount of the oil and/or brown sugar depending on your preference. Play with it over time and you'll find the proportions that make you happiest.

Put it in a jar with a lid that has a wide opening. Adorable jars with small openings mean lots of frustration in the shower.

Don't like vanilla? Skip it. Really, you can add any fragrance that appeals to you. Once you start making these homemade scrubs (the internet is a resource of dreams), you'll have a hard time paying for a body scrub again. Like granola (yes, the same is true for granola), this new approach helps increase your savings account (or your clothing budget) without sacrificing self care. Enjoy!

Tell me what you think! In less than 5 minutes, you can cross one thing off of your to-do list and do me a solid.
