It’s time to start your holiday shopping and these are 20 of my favorite holiday gifts for him. In fact, a number of them are really great gifts for all sorts of folks on your list. But, I know how tough shopping for the fellas can be. So, here are some glorious ways to get you going.

Cool Holiday Gifts for Him

12″ CAST IRON SKILLET WITH LID. FINEX. $275.

12 Inch Cast Iron Skillet. Lodge. $39.

4. Cast Iron Pan

If he cooks or camps or both, a great cast iron pan will change his life… and yours. Opt for the less expensive model for camping or the higher quality option for home. You’ll both be glad you did.

LEGO Architecture Statue of Liberty. Target. $119.

5. Statue of Liberty Lego Architecture Set

It’s true. My husband is the co-owner of a Lego store in Madison Valley, Bricks & Co. This means that year after year, our family continues to be deep into Lego. This is the coolest set yet for adults. Really, any set from the Lego Architecture Series is a win. You’d be surprised how many men really love a few hours with Lego.

Instagram Photo Books. Chatbox.

6. Instagram Books

If there’s someone in your life with a beautifully curated Instagram account, consider getting him a book of his Instagram photos. The tricky part is sweet talking him into sharing his password without catching on to your plan.

Instagram Photo Book Series. Chatbox. $10 each.

7. A subscription of Instagram Books

This is so good, I’m sharing it separately. Not only can you get a book filled with breathtaking and memorable photos from his Instagram account, but you can also sign up for a subscription of books! Yes! Each time he gets to a defined number of posts, a new book will be printed and sent to him. How’s that for time saving?

KLETTERSACK. Topo Designs. $169.

8. Urban Backpack from Topo Designs

Who doesn’t need a new workbag? Here’s one with space for his laptop that is useful for the commute, traveling or even hiking. Let’s hear it for multi-taskers.

BEAMie Hat With Built-In Rechargeable LED Head Lights. Available in multiple colors. Amazon. $14.

9. Lighted beenie

I’m obsessed with this. If he’s walking the dog in the dark (and if it is after 5 PM, he certainly is), this is going to be a game changer. MOMA never disappoints for gifts, by the way. That’s where I found this winner. To no one’s surprise, I then discovered it on Amazon for a lower price, so I’m linking to that one for you instead:) Oh! This is also great for the kids.

I got my husband tickets to see Neil DeGrasse Tyson at Town Hall for $5 several years ago. He loved it.

10. Tickets, tickets and more tickets

I’ve always had luck purchasing tickets as gifts. Start with Town Hall and Elliott Bay Books for great speakers at a low cost. (In the coming weeks, Town Hall has Echo and the Bunnymen, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and a Drag Queen Christmas. It’s all there, folks.) Depending where you go, you are looking at options starting at $5 or even free. Concert tickets are also a great gift. When is the last time you took him to see live music?

Greats The Royale. Available in multiple colors. Greats. $179. (These are super GREAT for women, too!)

11. Hip Sneakers

I’m often asked for a suggestion for hip sneakers. Fortunately, the same sneakers that are just right for you are also on the list for the fella in your world.

Frye Sam Chelsea. Zappos. $298.

12.Chelsea Boots

Opt for suede for the win or if he’d prefer leather, those are on trend, too.

MVMT Blacktop Chronograph Leather Strap Watch. Nordstrom. $185.

13. The Ideal Watch

Yes, you can go for a designer option if your budget can take it and that’s his jam. If so, start with the Rack for savings. For a modest price and very cool choice, try MVMT.

JP David. re-souL. $228.

14. A Work Boot

Depending on his personal style, he’ll either pine for the chelsea boot or the work boot. Some fellas like both. Use your best judgement.

15. A subscription to Esquire

I’ve loved Esquire for so long, I can’t really remember a time before I was a subscriber. It’s ideal for the thinking man who is interested in style but could use some pointers.

16. xHockey Tickets

If he is counting the days until Seattle gets an NHL team, why not surprise him with tickets to the Seattle Thunderbirds? Tickets are affordable and the timing is just right.

17. An Album

If you’ve been reading this blog for any period of time, you know what a music lover I am. Sure, the days of CDs are over; but vinyl is going full force. I like to pick up a few records for my husband and son every year. We have a family rule: Don’t buy it unless you want to listen to the ENTIRE album. John and Yoko’s Double Fantasy often reminds me how much I don’t feel like getting up every other song to skip over to another Lennon tune. Try local any local favorite record store: Sonic Boom, Easy Street, etc. or if you need a chain store, Barnes and Noble is a good option with lots of historic albums. I also love to take out of town visitors on a tour of KEXP with a visit to Light in the Attic Records and a cup of coffee.

18. A Book

This is never a mistake. Be sure that he wouldn’t prefer the electronic version. If he’s up for an old school book, the good people at local book stores are an incredible resource for new titles. I like Elliott Bay Books and Third Place Books for such recommendations. If there’s a sci fi lover in your life, local author, Neal Stephenson is great start. If you’d like a great book written by a person of color, friend, and past Poplin contributor, Brooke Williams has an extraordinary Instagram account suggesting a seemingly endless list of titles.

19. A Class

Cooking classes like those offered at Sur La Table are always fun. There are classes for, well, everything. From archery to gardening, there’s something for everyone. Think about whether he’d prefer something alone, together, a deeper dive into something that already interests him or a introduction to something new.

20. Foot reflexology, massages and so on

Society often tells us that massage gift certificates, pedicures and the like are for the ladies. Untrue! Who doesn’t want to sit and relax? Again, consider if he’d like to do this with someone else or go solo. Groupon is a great resource for deals on self care.

And there you have it, a comprehensive list of gift items for him that also work for her, them, you name it. Have a great time shopping and, as always, please let me know how it goes!
