Poplin’s Top 100 Retailers, Organized by Personal Style

Remember when shopping wasn’t depressing? Perhaps there was a time when you knew what you liked, what worked for your body, what style you were going for. Back then, shopping was fun, pieces tended to fit.

Not anymore. Hundreds of clients over nearly a decade as a personal stylist have told me that thanks to changes in their body, lifestyle, income level and even just a a basic desired evolution of their style have caused them to feel frustrated when it comes to personal style. If this speaks to you, Poplin is here. We’re all about helping each woman define her body type, authentic personal style key words, color palette and values to plug into a clear system to help you get dressed everyday.

For now, let’s make shopping fun again. If you feel stuck shopping at the same handful of retailers, this mighty list is for you! You’ll find my favorite retailers organized by personal style key word. Yes! You may have personal style key words that aren’t exactly on this list. Nice work on a deep dive for your authentic personal style. But, these five are common archetypes and are applicable across many style key words. Of course, each retailer will likely have pieces that communicate more than authentic personal style. So, if you’d like even more choices, expand your search beyond the archetype or two that most closely correspond with your personal style. They are a great place to start. You can also check out the Poplin Style Pinterest Boards for more ideas based on style key words, values and body type. If you’d love to find retailers that are aligned with your values, this list is filled with them. Our top 100 includes brands and retailers that feature ethically made pieces, are made by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) folks, are philanthropic and/or are sold at boutiques including those in Seattle. Have a great time and please let me know how it goes.
