Seattle Sunday: SCHAI Offers Up Art in the Form of Fashion

 From the Fall/Winter 2014 Collection.

Have you ever been truly mesmerized by a piece of clothing?

I have. The feeling is well beyond my normal shopping euphoria. When I discover a piece like this, the quality of the fabric and the workmanship sucks me in. Now, imagine this feeling and add in innovative designs that are at the same time minimal and intricate. That is SCHAI

Bellevue-based designer Suk Chai has created a line that far exceeds any I have written about in previous Seattle Sunday posts. The vision, the execution, the whole thing is just too much. In fact, Seattle Met named her 2014's Designer of the Year.

I'm including photos to inspire you. But a visit to Suk's showroom last October confirmed what I already knew, there's nothing like seeing (and feeling) these clothes in person. She's received all sorts of press both locally and nationally. It's inevitable that one-on-one access for an intimate look at her pieces is going to become exceedingly hard to come by. So, I'm THRILLED to share her upcoming three day sample sale with you, Dear Reader.

Pieces from her Fall/Winter 2014 and Spring/Summer 2015 samples will be available at a fraction of the normal price. Additionally, there will be one-of-a-kind pieces.
