My Favorite Websites for Retail Deals &/or Inspiration.
Shopping is fun. But, it's especially fun when you are able to find some stellar deals. If you haven't already subscribed to the Poplin email list, make sure you do! Every other Friday you'll receive a Poplin on Point email in your inbox jam packed with deals from my favorite brands and retailers. We subscribe to all those pesky retailer emails so that you don't have to.
Otherwise, how about some new ideas for finding super deals online? As a personal stylist in Seattle, I'm always looking out for you, my Dear Reader. Here are a few of my favorites right now.
10 Websites to Offer You the Best Deals & Inspiration on Items that You Love
Perhaps you caught UAL in the New York Times Style Section back in March. If not, here's the article making you want to visit so badly that moving to the South suddenly becomes feasible. If you are on an adventure in a secondary market in that part of the country, schedule time for a visit. If not, try the site for some remarkable deals on designer items.
2. Neiman Marcus Last Call
We're so loyal to Nordstrom, that locals often forget about Neimans. Think of this as an alternative (or supplement) to Nordstrom Rack. I use it very regularly for client recommendations.
3. Nordstrom Rack
The old stand by is never a mistake. Personally, I like to visit Racks where people who like what I like likely aren't shopping. For instance, if you find that downtown shoppers are competing with you for the same items, why not hit another Rack off the beaten path? My favorite is the Auburn Supermall Rack. It's also helpful to visit a brand new Rack shortly after it opens for choice selection.
4. SHOPBOP
The benefit of SHOPBOP is that you're sure to find some desirable pieces right away. It's curated, so you don't need to spend as much time weeding out the low hanging fruit. Plus, Amazon Prime members receive free shipping. Sale items go down to 70% off. And, it doesn't take long for prices to drop. Just keep your eyes peeled or put an alert on brands you love for emails when they go on sale.
5. FarFetch
Looking for some luxury inspiration? If price is no object, start at Far Fetch. If it is a factor (like it is for 99% of us), start with the sale section. You won't be disappointed. If nothing else, Far Fetch is similar to perusing a high end fashion magazine. It's fun. It's inspiring.
6. Barneys Warehouse
Barneys suffers the same fate as Neimans for Seattle-ites. If you are drawn to luxury brands, why not start things off with some serious savings? Right now there's an additional 60% off Mother's Day gifts on the site.
7. The Outnet
More designer deals. Sensing a theme?
8. Loit
Now this is all about inspiration. If you are interested in emerging designers, unexpected, fashion forward pieces, this is your site. The name comes from the word, "loit." Think, "loiter." As in, waiting around without a purpose. There's no grand vision beyond showcasing the uber creative designers out there right now.
9. Saks Off 5th
Yes. You'll love this site. But, if you REALLY wish a Saks Off 5th would magically appear, you might just be in luck. A 3,500 square foot store is scheduled to open in the remodeled Westlake Center. Zara! The Rack! Saks of 5th! You'll soon discover more deals during your lunch hour or after Happy Hour. (Two glorious times to shop, might I add.)
10. All Saints (Well, sort of)
Okay, so the All Saints site isn't the greatest for deals- unless you happen to be around during a sale or are on the Poplin email list so we alert you to one. BUT, there is now an All Saints outlet at the Tulalip outlet mall. Believe it! So, if you are in the area, swing by.
The biggest disappointment with these is the size range. You'll be hard pressed to find anything beyond a 14 with many sites tapping out at around a 12. But, let's hope as the industry develops more and more brands with extended sizes, so too will there be more super deal sites that include designer options for women of all sizes.
