Connect, Learn + Make an Impact for Women & Girls in Washington State at the Washington Women's Foundation PopUp Event

As a personal stylist for women I’m fortunate to spend a great deal of my time both personally and professionally with women. Prior to starting Poplin in 2013, my career was in philanthropy. Giving back has been an integral part of the business since Day 1. Thanks to my prior career, I’ve been fortunate to have a a unique perspective and thanks to the platform that Poplin provides, I’ve also been able to be a bridge between women seeking to have an impact and nonprofit organizations doing important work in the community.

So many women I meet are kind, generous, thoughtful and would love to do more. And yet, realistically, we can only do so much. I’m especially fond of any opportunity to connect women with ways to give back that meet each one where she is. Perfection does not need to be the enemy of the good. Giving back can be joyful and significant without being a full time job.

That’s where the Washington Women’s Foundation comes in. My primary way of giving for the last couple of years, you can see more about why I’m a member of WaWF here. Right now, I’m focused on the upcoming PopUp for Women and Girls Event scheduled for December. It’s one of the most popular events of the year and it fills up fast.

Why You Should Join Me at the WaWF PopUP for Women and Girls

With a couple of good friends at the Washington Women’s Foundation’s Rest and Repair Awards earlier this year. Pop Up will be inspiring, informative and a great way to connect with other women.

The Washington Women’s Foundation is a collective giving organization that pools together donations from multiple women to have the most impact. Decisions about where to give unrestricted grants is made by the foundation members. The foundation works hard to inform members and the community about the targeted work nonprofits are doing in our state via events and communications. PopUp for Women and Girls is a chance to get a picture of the work to support the foundation’s priorities around women and girls and for foundation members to determine where they’d like to focus the foundation’s funding. It’s a fun and meaningful evening to connect with members of the community, women in the foundation and local nonprofit leaders. It’s also a nice way to get a sense of the foundation, if you’re considering joining.
