Must Have: Pant Suits

I know. It's hard to hear the words, "pant suit," and not think of Hillary Clinton. But, that's not why we're here. We're here to talk about the resurgence of the matching jacket and pants, AKA pant suit, that's about to take over. As a personal stylist for women, I know that this seems well outside of what Seattle-ites are wearing to work. And, this can sound awfully stuffy and conservative. Not to worry, we can look to Cate Blanchett to show why the pant suit is something worth investing in. I was pining over which suit to show you when I discovered this article that chronicles all of the suits she wore on her Oceans 8 press tour. Magic.

It's about balance, not about size. As a personal stylist for women, I find this concept comes up pretty regularly. The loudest voice we hear is our inner voice and more often than we'd like, that inner voice can actually be the voice of the inner critic.

10 Places to Find Petite Plus Size Clothing

If you've been reading this blog for any period of time, you're probably very familiar with the emphasis on celebrating the body you have and learning how to dress it to ensure you feel like the best version of yourself each day. As a personal stylist for women, it's clear to me that a big challenge to this approach is the limitations that retailers and brands create when it comes to sizing. The typical store carries up to size 12 or 14. I spend a great deal of time with women in the 12-14-16 space. It's hard. As if finding the right clothes isn't already hard enough, when you size out of the stores and brands you know so well, things can quickly devolve.

5 Real Life Fashion Hacks That Will Make Your Life Much Easier

As a personal stylist for women, I've discovered that the smallest issues are often the ones that really derail our days. Surprisingly, the average office doesn't employ a tailor. I often tell our 7 year old, there's always a solution. You may not like it. But there is one. The same is also true for fashion mishaps. Marimekko + Uniqlo: Pieces for $20 and Under are Still Going Strong

What do I do with Outdated Pants?

As a personal stylist for women, I can't tell you how many times I've ended up in a client's closet going through a giant pile of "work pants." You know the ones. They are usually from Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Loft or some other company that offers functional trousers for work. More often than not they are wrinkle resistant, easy to care for and work as the "essential uniform for work."

Tights + Hosiery: What to Buy and What to Wear With Them

This is going to be a keeper, for sure. Many years ago the decision between a bare leg and nylons would determine whether or not I sat next to Johnny Cochran on an airplane.
